Hebbur Community School

Revive & Learn transforms a deteriorating village school through adaptive reuse, preserving cultural memory while reimagining it for daylight, ventilation, and spatial engagement.

Vernacular strategies such as arched openings, lime plaster finishes, and the use of local materials were incorporated to create an inclusive learning environment that is rooted in identity while also adhering to tight site and budget constraints. The design features courtyards and layered openings that encourage community interaction and place-based learning. It serves as a reflection of education as a form of social infrastructure aimed at fostering equity, identity, and rural revitalization.
